We want to thank you for being such dedicated clients! We understand just how important your pup is to your family, and we are dedicated to treating them as a member of our own. At Blue Collar Doghouse we are dedicated to maximizing the relationship between groomer and canine companion, this starts with minimizing any unnecessary stress. Our grooming department runs by appointment only to minimize their time spent away from you! In addition to our appointment based schedule, each dog is done start to finish with their assigned groomer, no assembly line here! This is what makes us unique and our service unmatched in our community 💙


Here at Blue Collar Doghouse we have 5 full time groomers, 2 of which are Master Certified Groomers. Barb and Lisa are two of the only groomers in our area who are trained in the skill of hand stripping, a technique in which certain breed coats are maintained. This Master Certification is the highest in which you can go within the grooming world, it requires years of rigorous training and studying to prepare for the national certification testing. All groomers in our salon have the support and assistance of our Master Certified Groomers as we believe in teamwork and consistent hands on training.

​​Price Increases
We understand price increases are difficult and never a fun topic of discussion. With the increasing cost of materials and our mission to provide more than just a 'livable wage' to our staff, we will be implementing adjustments to our grooming prices. While we highly value our long term customers however, many have not seen price increases since 2017. In order to get our prices to a level of industry standard within our community, please understand that we will be implementing a price increase ranging up to 20%. This will only be applied to dogs that do not currently fall within our pricing range. For more information about our ranges, please visit our website.

Cancellation Updates
As you already know, we do have a $25 cancellation fee for appointments cancelled within 24 hours of the scheduled start time. Exceptions will be made for true emergencies.

With being Master Certified Groomers, Barb and Lisa see a very large following of over 100 dogs at personal request. With this, there will be a $15 cancellation fee for all grooms cancelled or rescheduled within 1 week of their start time for both Barb and Lisa. The $25 will still apply if cancelled within 24 hours of the scheduled start time. We appreciate your understanding. ​
​Day-Care Fee
As you know, a message is sent to each client following the completion of their dogs groom. This message asks you to pick-up within 45 minutes of the notification. As we pride ourselves on being appointment based, this limits the number of dog runs we have. Most dogs roam free in our grooming room when not actively being groomed, unless otherwise requested by the owner, or if they exhibit behavior causing this to jeopardize the safety to them or another dog. If you are unable to pickup your dog within the 45 minute period, there will be a $25 day-care fee applied to the price of your groom. Exceptions can be made on a case by case basis, so please do not hesitate to ask!
      ​​​Other Important Notes:
  • We understand that communicating the groom you are expecting can be tough, and miscommunications between client and groomer are always a possibility. With this, we are proud to say that we offer a 72 hour fix-up policy. If you are unhappy with the groom, or would like an adjustment, please just let us know within 72 hours of your appointment and we will do our best to make it right. We take pride in our work and hope to have you feel this as well!
  • If there is any unforeseen matting, a dematting fee of $10-20 applied at groomers discretion. Our groomers will do their best to inform you at check-in.
  • While we will do our best at dematting, please understand that there is a limit to what dogs can tolerate. With this, we will often offer a dematting procedure once however, if it happens again, the groomer has full discretion to do what is best for the dog. If we feel that shaving the dog is best, we will ask you first. If you are set on dematting, it is possible we will ask you to find another salon willing to do so. Again, this is always in the best interest of the dog.
  • There is no discount on a grooming for clients who request we do not bathe the dog prior to grooming. The reason for this is that is actually more difficult to groom 'dirty' hair and therefore does not take less time.
  • We pride our reputation in being able to handle dogs of all energies and behaviors and often take on clients with dogs who have been dismissed from other salons. We do often recommend going to the vet and asking about a sedative for these cases as the extra stress to your pet is never something we wish them to experience. This often helps take the edge off their anxiety while allowing them to remain standing and alert throughout their groom. 
  • We take extensive notes during our grooms. Please keep this in mind when you come in for your next groom! Simply asking for the same cut as last time is very helpful for your groomer.
  • Please understand that grooming prices are subject to change from appointment to appointment. There are many factors in pricing which tend to fluctuate between grooms. These factors include but are not limited to, coat condition, size of dog, behavior, duration between grooms, and fragility of the dog.
